The Wrong Emergency Call of the Old Cinema

By Adeeba Rashid

When 24-year-old data scientist Siya Fernandes dials the wrong number during a monsoon emergency, she is mistaken for a witness who disappeared eight years ago from a Mumbai neighbourhood that no longer exists on any official map. Drawn into the mystery alongside Rohan Iyer, a grieving musician searching for his missing father, Siya must untangle handwritten lies buried in court transcripts before a powerful property developer seals the records forever. But the closer she and Rohan grow, the more dangerous her silence becomes, because the connection she has been hiding may be the only truth that can save them both. In a city that erases what it finds inconvenient, two families have been guarding opposite halves of a secret, and a crumbling neighbourhood library holds the piece neither side was ever meant to find.
