The Missing Floor of the Old Cinema

By Prashant Mishra

When heritage conservator Riya Menon receives an anonymous parcel containing tomorrow's newspaper proof on a fog-wrapped river island in Assam, she is pulled into a conspiracy that reaches beneath the rotting floor of a forgotten cinema. A musician searching for his missing parent becomes her only ally, but the closer they grow, the more dangerous their withheld truths become. As metadata buried inside a shared playlist begins to unravel a manipulated championship and the organised betting ring behind it, Riya must decide how far she will break the law to keep the evidence alive before someone buries it permanently. The final revelation forces her to confront the terrifying possibility that the person who guided her and the person who threatened her were always the same frightened soul.
