The Friend Who Stayed Silent at the Residency Gate During the Rains

By Adeeba Rashid

When 22-year-old food blogger Maya Thomas hears her own voice on an emergency call she never made, the gated township outside Gurugram stops feeling like home. A musician searching for his missing father pulls Maya into an investigation where the student activist account exposing the institution is run by the institution itself, where evidence dissolves from official servers overnight, and where every friend who stood at the residency gate during the rains remembers a different night. To keep the case alive, Maya must publish what she has before it is perfect, and what she discovers is that the person she thought was lost has been watching the whole time.
