The Friend Who Stayed Silent: A Second-Chance Investigation After Midnight

By Prashant Mishra

In the flickering shadows of Kolkata's dying cinema district, eighteen-year-old student filmmaker Sana Ali uncovers a coded correction hidden across library books and follows it into a conspiracy that has been quietly consuming students like her. A scholarship programme with a polished face is running an illegal behavioural study, and when Sana becomes the prime suspect in a cover-up, she must race against a closing investigation, a withdrawing client, and a sibling who knows more than they should. Built on plausible surveillance technology, handwritten edits to court transcripts, and the grief of a victim who chose to disappear, this dark techno-thriller asks how far an eighteen-year-old will go when the system is designed to outlast her courage.
