Inside the Wrong Emergency Call

By Prashant Mishra

When data scientist Noor Chawla hears her own voice on an emergency call she never made, the fog-wrapped river island of Assam becomes a maze of stolen identities and buried recordings. Teaming up with a grieving musician whose missing parent started the whole unraveling, Noor follows a trail of metadata hidden inside a shared playlist straight toward an adored public figure with everything to lose. As an internal inquiry brands her investigation misconduct and the community she trusted closes ranks against her, Noor must decide whether the danger surrounding her is real, misremembered, or being manufactured in real time. The truth will surface at one live public event or it will disappear forever.
