Inside the Empty Hostel Room

By Prashant Mishra

When heritage conservator Myra Das discovers a coded correction hidden inside water-damaged library books, she is pulled into a mystery that threatens to expose a celebrated rescue as a staged cover-up for an accidental death. Working alongside Arjun, a musician searching for his missing parent, Myra finds that every clue they uncover together deepens both the danger and an intimacy neither of them planned. But an internal inquiry brands their investigation as misconduct, forcing Myra to choose between publishing incomplete evidence that could destroy an innocent life or letting the truth drown beneath a rain-soaked neighbourhood being erased by redevelopment. In a city that rewards silence, proving who planted the false evidence may cost her everything she has only just found the courage to want.
