Behind the Night Train List

By Adeeba Rashid

When a 20-year-old climate researcher named Riya Menon receives an anonymous parcel containing tomorrow's newspaper proof at a Noida newsroom, she is pulled into a conspiracy where a manipulated championship result masks organised betting and buried lives. Working alongside a musician whose missing parent started the whole mystery, Riya cannot tell whether the danger closing in around her is real, misremembered, or carefully staged by someone she has begun to trust. Every answer she uncovers makes the agreed-upon story less believable, and the metadata hidden inside a shared playlist forces her to confront the terrifying possibility that her anonymous helper and her most visible enemy are the same frightened person. To save the truth, Riya must break the law, risk the love growing between her and the musician, and decide how far she will go before she becomes the next lie that gets buried.
