After the Locked Cloud

By Adeeba Rashid

When an anonymous parcel lands on Zoya Mir's doorstep containing proof of tomorrow's headline, she is pulled back into a scandal she once buried alongside her grief. Kian Raza, the musician son of a missing man who started the whole mystery, returns to Varanasi's crowded lanes and into Zoya's carefully guarded life, and together they uncover a web of manipulated championship results, organised betting, and a community radio archive that holds a clue no one was meant to preserve. But when a fabricated video strips Zoya of her credibility, trust between them fractures at the worst possible moment, and the only way to save each other is to expose the truth in front of everyone, live, before the final witness disappears again under yet another name. Dark, intimate, and relentlessly tense, After the Locked Cloud is a story about grief transformed into the kind of courage that refuses to stay quiet.
