A Version of the Truth: A Campus Secret in August

By Prashant Mishra

When 24-year-old community organiser Ira Banerjee receives a wedding invitation for a marriage no one on the river island of Majuli will acknowledge, she begins pulling at a thread that unravels a professor's corporate betrayal, a missing musician's parent, and a truth split carefully between two families who never meant to meet. As a manipulated video strips away her credibility and a source refuses to stay hidden, Ira must decide whether the danger closing in around her is real, remembered wrong, or built by someone who knows exactly what she is hiding. A Version of the Truth is a dark, claustrophobic psychological thriller about grief weaponised, memory doubted, and the cost of finally telling the whole story.
